Rachel has been doing commissioned portraits for many years, of both individuals and groups and
is well-known for her paintings and drawings from life, showing people from the very youngest to the
very oldest absorbed in what they are doing and looking like themselves. Musicians playing have
been a recurrent theme, but she is as interested in drawing someone learning to knit as she is in an
actor on the stage or a gorilla and its keeper.

Apart from portraits Rachel has always produced still life pictures and paintings of places that mean
something to her, as well as pieces from imagination.
